The clinic provides cataract surgery, refractive lens exchange, eyelid and tear duct surgery, and the assessment of glaucoma, medical retina conditions and ocular hypertension. YAG laser treatment is also available, a special treatment used to improve vision after cataract surgery.

About
In addition to his role as Consultant Ophthalmologist and Clinical Partner at Newmedica Birmingham, Professor Sai Kolli is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. He was appointed in 2011 and is the lead consultant for cornea, cataract and refractive surgery at University Hospitals Birmingham.
He is the designated consultant for dealing with highly complex cataract surgery at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. He has expertise in managing cataracts in patients with high refractive errors (short sight and long sight), astigmatism and presbyopia and is one of the most experienced surgeons in the use of premium lenses including toric, trifocal and extended depth of field lens implants. He is also highly experienced in refractive surgery (LASIK, PRK, LASEK, ICL and RLE).
Professor Kolli studied medicine at the University of Cambridge where he graduated with First Class honours. He started his Ophthalmology career over 20 years ago and has trained in some of the most prestigious units in the UK. He completed 3 years of academic research in the field of corneal stem cell biology culminating in the award of a PhD in 2009. Professor Kolli is one of the few consultants who has been fellowship trained in multiple specialities including cornea and external eye disease as well as cataract and refractive surgery. In 2011, he moved to Birmingham to head up the corneal department at University Hospitals Birmingham where he provides a tertiary referral service for cornea and cataract.
Professor Kolli is a national expert in cornea, cataract and refractive surgery and teaches and lectures across the UK and internationally. He was recently appointed as an honorary professor at Aston University.

About
Mr Sung is a Consultant Eye Surgeon with special interests in complex glaucoma and cataract management. Alongside his role at Newmedica Birmingham, he is a consultant at Birmingham and Midland Eye Centre since 2004, one of the biggest eye hospitals in UK. He is a regional specialist in paediatric glaucoma. He is an international expert in glaucoma tube-shunt surgery, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery and treatment for angle closure glaucoma.
He graduated from the University of Wales, Cardiff, UK in 1993. He completed the specialist training programme at Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham. He undertook prestigious glaucoma fellowship training at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London before his consultant post in Birmingham. He was awarded an MSc degree in Medical Leadership from the University of Warwick in 2013.
Mr Sung has keen research interests in glaucoma surgery, he has published over 30 peer-reviewed scientific papers. He is a co-founder of UK Paediatric Glaucoma Society. He has been invited to speak at over 15 international scientific meetings. He is an examiner for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and holder of Bronze National Clinical Excellent Award.
