Newmedica Shrewsbury clinic operates from the Shrewsbury Business Park and provides services for both NHS and private patients. The clinic provides cataract surgery, eyelid and tear duct surgery, IPL treatment for dry eyes, and the assessment of glaucoma, medical retina conditions and ocular hypertension. YAG laser treatment is also available, a special treatment used to improve vision after cataract surgery.
The clinic prides itself on short waiting times and aims to give clients a first appointment within two weeks from referral. They also offer a private service for cataract and eyelid surgeries, offering flexible appointment times, reduced waiting lists and a choice of lens options to meet your individual lifestyle needs.

Miss Carmel Noonan
About
Miss Carmel Noonan is an experienced ophthalmologist originally from southern Ireland with a wealth of experience in both general eye care and more specialized procedures like cataract surgery.
Miss Noonan completed her medical degree and training in Dublin before spending two years in Boston, USA at Harvard Medical School. Upon returning to the UK, she undertook senior registrar training in Liverpool before becoming a consultant ophthalmologist in Warrington.
In 2009, she moved to Aintree University Hospital, where she has been working for the past 10 years, alongside her role at Newmedica Shrewsbury. She undertakes at least two complex cataract lists each week.
