This means that prior to your vision correction surgery, you would have met the a highly experienced surgeon who has answered your questions. Rest assured that you will not meet your surgeon for the first time on the day of the surgery!

Mukhtar Bizrah is a consultant refractive, cornea and cataract surgeon at the Western Eye Hospital, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. He is also the unit training lead for ophthalmology and one of the few ophthalmic surgeons in the world who is board certified in the UK, USA, Canada and Europe. Having completed his undergraduate medical degree at the University of London, Mr Bizrah then completed his core ophthalmology training at the London deanery. This included 2 years at the Western Eye Hospital and 2 years at Moorfields Eye Hospital.

Mr Bizrah is an expert in advanced refractive, cataract and corneal surgery. His clinical interests include cataract and laser refractive surgeries (e.g. LASIK, LASEK), ICL surgery, cornea transplants (partial and full thickness), pterygium surgery, corneal collagen crosslinking with laser surface remodelling and anterior segment reconstruction. He provides second opinions on complex cases.

Mukhtar has presented his research at numerous international conferences and peer-reviewed research articles. By 2020, he had won 25 awards and prizes on International, national and regional levels.
Founder & co-director of world-renowned London Eye Course, the largest ophthalmology revision course in Europe & North America. He is also the founder of the London laser and refractive surgery (LRS) course.

Mr Bizrah’s work has featured in international press as well as on television, such as CNN and CBS news.

About

Mr Mohamed Elalfy is a highly skilled double-qualified consultant ophthalmologist and associate professor who specialises in complex cornea, cataract and vision correction surgery.

With more than 20 years of experience in ophthalmology, Mr Elalfy has successfully performed thousands of laser refractive surgeries (e.g. LASIK), cataract and lens replacement surgeries with premium lenses, implantations of implantable collamer lens (ICL), cornea ring segments (e.g. CAIRS), and cornea collagen crosslinking.

Mr Elalfy is the Fellowship Programme Director at the renowned Corneoplastic Unit at Queen Victoria Hospital, where he trains future ophthalmic specialists. He also holds a position as a Consultant Cornea and Cataract surgeon at the Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust.

As an examiner for two Royal Colleges, he plays an essential role in shaping the future of ophthalmology. Additionally, he supervises undergraduate students at the University of Brighton and supports doctoral and master’s degree candidates in ophthalmology.

Mr Elalfy holds the title of Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at the Research Institute of Ophthalmology, Egypt, and has authored over 50 peer-reviewed publications. His passion for evidence-based ophthalmology drives him to continuously improve patient care and outcomes.

Mr Adnaan Haq is a highly experienced consultant ophthalmologist specialising in cataract, lens replacement, laser vision correction and glaucoma. He is passionate about helping people achieve clear, natural vision without relying on glasses or contact lenses.

After completing his ophthalmology training at Moorfields Eye Hospital, one of the world’s leading eye centres, Mr Haq developed advanced expertise in both complex cataract surgery and modern laser eye treatments. He is a Fellow of the World College of Refractive Surgery (FWCRS) and holds the Certificate in Laser Refractive Surgery (CertLRS) from the Royal College of Ophthalmologists.

In addition to his clinical work, he is dedicated to teaching and training future ophthalmologists, optometrists, and nurses. His research has been published in several respected medical journals, reflecting his ongoing commitment to excellence and innovation in eye care.

Furthering this commitment, Mr Haq presents his findings at esteemed conferences across Europe, actively contributing to advancements in knowledge for himself and his peers.
