About
Mr Oliver Bowes is a leading Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon in Essex and East London specialising in complex cataract and refractive surgery using advanced premium toric, multifocal and extended depth of focus lenses. He has extensive experience in refractive cataract surgery aiming to minimise a patient’s reliance on glasses following treatment.
The visual demands of every patient are individually assessed to determine what type of premium lens will best address their visual needs and the vast majority of patients achieve excellent outcomes as evidenced in regular patient testimonials and other professional endorsements.
Oliver practices privately at the Spire Hartswood in Brentwood, Spire London East in Woodford and the Nuffield Holly Hospital in Buckhurst Hill. He is also an Honorary Consultant at Barking, Havering & Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust where he is the past clinical lead for cataract surgery and a former surgical trainer for the North London deanery.

His specialist training includes two dedicated corneal and refractive surgical fellowships at Cambridge University Hospital and Moorfields Eye Hospital. He has numerous peer-reviewed publications and is regularly invited to lecture in the UK.
