About

George was born in Athens, Greece, and grew up on a beautiful and remote Greek island called Kythera. He studied medicine in the English-speaking Medical University of Constanta, Romania. After serving in the Army for a year and a half, he went on to become a registrar in ophthalmology, in Bucharest, Romania.

In the UK, he has worked in the NHS since 2009 as an ophthalmologist in various clinical and managerial roles, including that of Clinical Lead, Clinical Governance Lead and Clinical Audit Lead. His love for cataract surgery has, over the years, taken over and George joined SpaMedica as a high-volume cataract surgeon.

He currently performs around 3,500 cataract surgeries per year. His PCR complication rate is around 0.2%, compared to the national rate of 1.1%.


How to find Freedom Vision Leeds

By Car

  1. Enter LS15 8ZB into your sat nav or preferred navigation app
  2. Follow the M1 and leave at Junction 46, following signs for A6120 Ring Road / Colton
  3. Join Century Way and continue until you reach 1175 Century Way
  4. The Freedom Vision clinic is located on the first floor of the building
  5. Free on-site patient parking is available directly outside the building, making it easy to access your appointment

 

By Train

  1. Travel to Leeds Railway Station
  2. Exit the station via the main entrance
  3. The clinic is approximately 6 miles from the station
  4. A taxi journey typically takes 15–20 minutes, depending on traffic
  5. Alternatively, take a bus towards Colton or Cross Gates, then alight at a stop on Century Way, which is just a short walk from the clinic

 

By Bus

  1. Several local bus services operate between Leeds City Centre and Colton
  2. Take a service that stops on or near Century Way
  3. Alight at the nearest stop for Century Way / Colton Retail Park
  4. Walk along Century Way towards 1175 Century Way
  5. Freedom Vision is located on the first floor, with clear signage at the building entrance
