About
Mr Zaid Shalchi is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon in the NHS and private practice. He was previously an Honorary Consultant at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London.
His subspecialty interests are cataract surgery with premium intraocular lenses and retinal disease. Mr Shalchi graduated with double distinction from King’s College London School of Medicine.
He completed residency at St Thomas’ and King’s College Hospitals before undertaking fellowship training in medical retina, uveitis and complex cataract surgery at Moorfields Eye Hospital. He is an examiner for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and the Retina tutor for the London Eye Course.
He is a keen surgical teacher as part of the Skills Faculty of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists as well as training ophthalmologists at an international level at the European Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS) and the European Society for Retina Specialists (Euretina). Mr Shalchi takes great pride in providing high-quality patient-centred care in an efficient and timely manner.
