About
Dr. Ankur Barua is a highly experienced consultant ophthalmologist specialising in cataract, refractive, and corneal surgery. He has a strong background in ophthalmology and medical law, having earned his medical degree from Manchester Medical School and undertaking a double honours ophthalmology clerkship at Harvard Medical School.
His postgraduate education includes a master’s in medical Law and Ethics and specialist training in both Cornea and Glaucoma. Dr. Barua completed his CCT and an advanced fellowship in Cornea and Refractive Surgery at the Corneoplastics Unit, QVH, East Grinstead.
He has held significant roles, including a locum consultant position at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, and has been instrumental in developing and introducing keratoconus pathways in Coventry and Warwickshire. Dr. Barua is also a trainer and examiner in various national and international courses and has been recognized with numerous nominations, including Trainer of the Year and the Compassion in Care segment of the Outstanding Service and Care Awards.
