The practice offers personalised ophthalmic care for patients seeking cataract and refractive lens exchange surgery.

The Ophthalmology clinic at Spa Private Medical, combines state of the art imaging and biometry equipment with a relaxing and welcoming environment. Tetbury Hospital has the latest cataract surgery equipment and is the only hospital in our region with a Toric IOL alignment system built into the operating microscope.

Consultations are relaxed affairs which aim to explain exactly what cataract surgery involves and to help patients make informed decisions about your cataract surgery.  

There will be ample time to answer all of your questions and to hopefully allay any of the quite natural anxieties you may have about your surgery.

Our aim is to make your journey from referral to discharge as stress free as possible.

About

Mr John Ferris qualified from Bristol in 1989 and carried out his ophthalmology training at the Western Eye Hospital London, Addenbrookes Hospital Cambridge, Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne, Great Ormond Street Hospital London and Moorfields Eye Hospital London.

Mr Ferris was the Head of Ophthalmology Training in the Severn Deanery and a member of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists Training Committee since 2010. He is the author of three ophthalmology textbooks and has been an invited speaker at 10 International Eye Surgery meetings over the past 5 years.

In 2009, Mr Ferris was awarded a Bronze National Clinical Excellence award for his contribution to ophthalmology and surgical training in the UK.
