We strive for truly bespoke eye care through every stage of your cataract surgery journey. Professor Dan Lindfield provides all your diagnostics, consultation, treatment and aftercare backed by a small friendly and caring team.  We offer the latest advancements in diagnostic modalities and a full range of intraocular lens options always tailored to your specific needs. We are particularly proud to be one of the first to use Galaxy and have implanted more than 200 to date (correct May 2026).  

We feel this innovative lens has improved our patient’s visual outcomes and satisfaction over its non-spiral multifocal forbearers. Galaxy claims to provide full range of vision from distance, through intermediate, to near and in our experience it delivers.  The rates of glare and haloes have significantly reduced leading to a greater number of patients being able to benefit from this technology. About

Dan has won 20 national and international prizes including a national Patient Safety award and been named as one of the top Ophthalmologists in the world on two occasions. He was awarded the title “Professor of Ophthalmology” (Honorary Visiting Professor) by City St George’s University of London in 2025. This was in recognition of his excellence in clinical care, research and teaching.  

Dan has published more than 40 scientific papers across major journals and is regularly an invited speaker at conferences and congresses across the UK, Europe, Asia and The Americas.  

Having performed over 10,000 cataract surgery procedures and 10,000 laser procedures with consistent “excellent” 5 star feedback, he can truly claim to be amongst the best cataract surgeons and glaucoma surgeons in the world. 

Dan started Ophthalmic training in 2004 and has worked at many prestigious eye units in the UK including Moorfields Eye Hospital. He has held Consultant posts at King’s College, London and Royal Surrey, Guildford. For 7 years he was Training Programme Director and Head of School for NHS England and Health Education England, being responsible for Ophthalmic training across Kent, Surrey and Sussex.  

He formed Farnham Eye Care in 2015 to create a small clinic focussed on providing exemplary patient experience and excellence in outcomes. 

How to find Farnham Eye Care 

By Car 

  1. Enter GU9 7EN into your sat nav or preferred navigation app 
  2. Follow signs for Farnham Town Centre 
  3. Continue towards The Hart, which is located in the centre of Farnham 
  4. Turn into the clinic entrance and park in one of the six dedicated patient parking spaces, available free of charge for patients attending appointments. Farnham Eye Care 
  5. If the clinic car park is full, several public pay-and-display car parks are within a short walk, including Upper Hart, Lower Hart and Central Car Park 

 

By Train From Farnham Railway Station 

  1. Travel to Farnham Station, which has regular direct services from London Waterloo and stations across Surrey and Hampshire 
  2. Exit the station onto Station Hill 
  3. Turn left and walk towards South Street 
  4. Continue along South Street into The Borough 
  5. Turn left onto The Hart 
  6. Farnham Eye Care is located at 1 The Hart, approximately a 10-minute walk from the station 

 

By Bus 

Several local bus services stop in Farnham Town Centre, just a few minutes’ walk from the clinic.
