About
Mr Mohammad Ahmad graduated with his medical degree from Guy’s, King’s & St. Thomas’ School of Medicine in London. He has received over 10 academic prizes over the course of his career including MBBS with Distinction as well as the King’s College Academic Scholarship for outstanding academic performance awarded to the top 1%.
Praised by his colleagues for the thorough nature of his approach, he takes pride in delivering customised and bespoke treatments, tailored to individuals using evidence based techniques. He completed his ophthalmology training in Yorkshire and West Midlands that included a TSc fellowship in cornea and anterior segment surgery. He then moved to Liverpool to undertake a second advanced fellowship in anterior segment and laser refractive surgery at the prestigious St. Paul’s Eye Unit. In addition, Mr Ahmad has also undertaken an advanced refractive observership at the world-renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital in London.
Passionate about research, Mr Ahmad has been involved in various studies and clinical trials in corneal disease and refractive surgery including corneal healing following surgery. He has published several papers in highly reputable peer reviewed journals, presented his work at national and international conferences and has won multiple awards for his work including the prestigious Alistair Fielder Prize in Ophthalmology.
After his training, he took up a Consultant post at the St. Paul’s Eye Unit in Liverpool, specialising in corneal transplantation, cataract and refractive surgery. He is the co-lead of St Paul’s Laser Vision. He was also awarded the Honorary Clinical Lectureship at the University of Liverpool where is involved with medical student admissions, education as well as examination. Additionally, he has trained several trainee doctors who have gone on to become consultants and leaders in their fields
