About
Mr Hussain is a consultant ophthalmic surgeon with a specialist interest in corneal surgery and high volume and complex cataract surgery.
He qualified from Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Hospital Medical School in 2005 where he was awarded the Hisako Ikeda undergraduate prize in ophthalmology and special study module merits for studies in ophthalmology.
During his ophthalmic training, he was awarded the John Cairns Memorial prize and the Marie Comer prize from the Cambridge University Hospitals Trust for research projects in ophthalmology.
His key professional interests are complex cataract surgery, refractive cataract surgery and cataract surgery in patients with pre-existing corneal and ocular surface disease. Mr Hassian has extensive experience with premium lens technology with a specific focus on toric, enhanced monofocal, extended depth of focus and multifocal lens implants.
He’s passionate about surgical excellence and about excellent patient communication and has a very strong interest in medical education and am heavily involved in surgical training within the region.
